a little tase of chicago here in AZ

When we lived in Chicago, we used to alwaaaaaays say how much we would miss Portillos once we moved away.

So you can imagine our excitement when we found out one would be opening out here in Arizona!

Portillos is a famous Chicago eatery with THE best chicago style hot dogs, THE best cheese fries, THE best chopped salad and THE best chocolate cake shakes.

(not to mention lots of other yummy stuff, those are just my faves!)

 You will honestly never have a better hot dog in your life!

And I'm not even a huge hot dog lover!

Every time family and friends would come visit us in Chicago, Portillos was always a must.

And we've converted so many non-hot-dog-lovers into hot-dog-lovers after experiencing Portillos.

Portillos opened in Scottsdale just last week, so the crowds are still pretty insane.

While we fought the crowds and waited in the long line, my mouth was watering for my Portillos faves and I told Randy I was a little bit nervous that it wouldn't taste EXACTLY the same.

What if they used different distributors out here in Arizona or something??

I just didn't wanna get my hopes up that it would be JUST like the Chicago Portillos.

But holy crap was it good.

Just as good as our Chicago Portillos.

SO good that we might have gone back again the very next day and ate til we were sick to our stomachs. :)

The drive out to Scottsdale is about 30 minutes for us, which is kind of ludicrous to drive that far for a damn hot dog.

But its probably a good thing that its a little bit of a drive from us.

Otherwise we'd be eating there like 4x a week and it would not be pretty.

We couldn't be happier about having a little taste of Chicago out here in Az! :)
