** December 24, 2015 **
On Christmas Eve morning, we woke up early, packed up the car, and headed up north through the snow and the fog to spend Christmas in Snowflake...
Buddy left a special note for the boys before we left and I wish I had captured on camera how Madden's face lit up when he read the note and found out he was officially on Santa's nice list this year.
It melted my heart!!!!
I love that he still "believes" and it makes me a little sad to think that he probably only has a few years left of this stage in his childhood...
The cousins were so excited to all be together at Grandma and Papa Brimhalls!
They all cuddled up under their blankets to watch The Grinch Who Stole Christmas by the light of Grandma's christmas tree...
Then our annual family Christmas Eve devotional began...
Every year, Grandma reads a special story, The Three Trees, to remind us all about the true meaning of Christmas...the kids were pretty disruptive and things got a little chaotic...but it made for some great entertainment!
The brothers all took turns reading from the book of Luke, the real Christmas story.
Teigen played a christmas song on his trumpet.
And then I read a new book to the kids, called "The Pajama Elves: Urgent Delivery."
Right after the book ended, there was a knock on the door and a special christmas package left on the front porch by one of Santa's elves...
New Christmas Jammies for all the kids!!!!!
Then, the part the kids had been waiting for all night...
their annual cousin gift exchange...
It was well past midnight before all the cousins were tucked into bed, asleep in the basement downstairs...
And then..............
Santa came!
