Summer Visitors Parts 3 & 4

Visitors 3 & 4 overlapped...and we planned it that way on purpose.

My brother Tanner brought his fiancee Josie out to meet us, and my sister Michele and her husband John planned a trip out to Chicago at the same time so that they could meet her too.

Despite the hellishly hot temps while they were here, we made the rounds to all the Chicago sites.

Highlights of the trip included:

Lunch in Greektown...and nothing else. just lunch. just hella good greek food.
Brunch and shopping in Andersonville
Free rides on the Metra
Shopping on Magnificent Mile (probably a little more than the guys would have liked)
North Avenue Beach...Madden's very first beach experience!
Giving our guests a taste of the best damn food of their life: chicago dogs at Portillos...deep dish pizza at Gino's East...fried ice cream on Navy Pier)
Sweating our A-s off on the Architecture Tour...
...and then cooling off in the Crown Fountain at Millenium Park
Staying up late watching 30 Rock every night
A Madden-free couples-only date night at Quartinos and Navy Pier
Getting caught in a torrential downpour at the end of Navy Pier...
...and then watching Josie and Tanner make out in the torrential downpour at the end of Navy Pier

(Sorry Josie, I just had to share that...) ;)

Needless to say, after our time spent together in the city, Josie definitely got the stamp of approval from all of us...especially Madden. :) He had a major crush on Josie...and I mean major. Like follow-her-all-over-the-damn-house-and-wait-outside-the-bathroom-door-everytime-she-took-a-shower major. It was the sweetest and most hilarious thing ever!

P.S. Are all of these posts about our summer visitors to chicago making anyone want to move to this freaking awesome city?? Cuz its making me not want to ever leave it! But I need some friends and family to move out here and live by us.
Come on, you know you want to!
