visit with santa

I am shocked he didn't cry.
I was so proud of him :)

I have been talking to him about sitting on Santa's lap for weeks now.
Reassuring him that Santa is "sooooo nice" and "not at alllllll scary."
I've even been taking him to the different malls where Santa is, just to point out to him all the other kids that sit on Santa's lap happily.
Madden would always watch from a safe distance...
Circling the area, keeping about a 20 foot radius between him and Santa, and never taking his eyes off of him.
He even waved at him one time (from his 20 foot radius) and said really softly, "hi santa."
But everytime I asked Madden if he wanted to sit on Santas lap, I got the same response.
"No."

Until we told him that Santa would only bring him the toys he wanted for christmas IF he sat on his lap.
And told him what he wanted.
And took a picture with him.
Without crying.

Success.

Madden told Santa he wanted cars and trains.

Done and done.

well done Madden! So proud of you. Gwen is so freaked out! Davis thinks Santa is silly and just laughs. Love his pic with Santa!

I just read this and asked Jillian if she wanted to go- she said, "Nope." lol. Guess it will be another santa-less year...
