Grandma & Grandpa Hunt's favorite time to visit us in Arizona is in the fall, so this year they came out for Halloween weekend.
Lucky us!
While they were out here, we decided to try Schnepf Farms for the first time, since everyone always raves about it.
It was crowded. And dirty. And stinky. And overpriced.
But then Madden told Randy he was "the best dad in the whole world" for taking him there and he told me that the ghetto roller coaster was "the best roller coaster he'd ever been on in his whole life."
And then the boys got super excited over glow in the dark cotton candy that was bigger than their heads.
So I guess it wasn't a total bust.
But I don't think we'll be making it an annual tradition for our family.
On Halloween day, I let Madden play hooky from school and we went to the zoo.
It was Boo at the Zoo and the kids could wear their halloween costumes so Beckett insisted on Batman :)
I realized that Beck hadn't been to the zoo since he was a baby and he was so funny!
He kept imitating all the animals (notice his flamingo pose, haha!)
And almost every exhibit he came up to, he'd either say "what the...." or "ohhh myyy goooooosh..."
Me and my mom were cracking up and I kept trying to catch his reactions on camera but of course I never could.
Then that night, they put their costumes on and we went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood with grandma and grandpa and daddy joined us as soon as he got off of work. ..
Some people thought Madden was a lizard, some thought he was just a plain old T Rex, but he was actually Indominus Rex from Jurassic World. Although, when people asked him what he was and he mumbled the answer from behind his mask it sounded more like "dominatrix."
And this kid...
If there had been an award in our neighborhood for best costume of the night, it would have gone to Beckett. Everyone gushed over his ET costume and strangers even asked to take pictures of him. He pedaled his bike all over the neighborhood singing "Let it Go" at the top of his lungs and kept growling at kids that walked by us to try and scare them.
There were some pretty scary houses in our neighborhood and Madden was loving it.
Beckett, not so much.
If a house had anything too spooky, he would refuse to trick or treat there and ride his bike away saying "I never going to that house EVA again!"
Or he would yell at the scary zombies and skeletons, "stop looking at me!!!"
