Beckett's birthday fell on a Friday this year, so the morning of, we woke up him up bright and early to celebrate (so that daddy and madden wouldn't miss it before leaving for work and school).
He opened family presents and we sang happy birthday to him before eating his favorite donuts (BOSA!) for breakfast!
Grandma Brimhall came into town that day so we went out to lunch with her and then started prepping for Beckett's big superhero party!
Some of Beckett's friends came dressed in superhero costumes and some put on the superhero costumes we had.
Beckett was so excited to wear his brand new HULK SMASH costume that we had just given to him that morning.
Once all the kids were there, they got to decorate their own superhero masks...
And then we feasted on the superhero-themed spread...
After the kids finished eating, we played a few games...
A Hulk Smash game...
A pin-the-star-on-Captain-America's-shield game...
And a Spiderman web/silly string game...
Then it was time to open presents!
And sing to the birthday boy!
I'd say his superhero party was a success!
Throwing this party reminded me of the superhero party I threw for Madden almost 4 years ago.
At the time, I had no clue whether we would ever be lucky enough to have more kids.
Luckily, we had Beckett.
Unluckily, I didn't save any of the superhero party stuff and had to do it all over again for Beckett.
But I would do it a million times over for this kid.
Now that Beck has been here with us for 3 years and its hard to remember our family without him in it, I sometimes forget how long we waited for him and how much we went through to get him here.
Being a mom of boys is the best.
And I'm the luckiest.
Happy birthday to my little superhero!
xoxo
