Okay, I need advice from any runners out there who use the Nike+ chip. I am so frustrated! I LOVE that thing and I depend on it to tell me my average mile time as well as the distance I have run...especially now that I am training and running a certain distance every day! So back in January when I first got my Nike+ chip there was one time that it just stopped working while I was running. My IPOD just froze, it wouldn't do anything and the mileage and time on the display screen was frozen. So I finished my workout without it and somehow my husband fixed it a couple days later. That was a while ago and it hasn't happened since... Until this morning during my 6 mile run. I was doing so good and I had the best mile pace I have ever had and then right at mile 4 in the middle of Gwen Stefani, it froze again! And I could NOT get it to work! But I was determined to finish my 6 miles, so I finished with no music (which is TORTURE! I cannot run without my music!) and now I am even more frustrated because when I hook up my IPOD to my computer and go to the Nike+ website, it won't download my run from today! It's saying my last workout was 2 days ago. And even though it froze and I knew it woulnd't record that I ran 6 miles, I still thought it would record the first 4 miles I ran and my average mile time and all that. UGH! Has anyone else had this problem??? I don't know if it is the chip or my IPOD...but now I am worried that this could happen during the marathon and there is no way I can finish the marathon with NO MUSIC to keep me going!!! Help!!!

A friend of mine who used it suggested that maybe the sensor battery may have run out--it sounds like those batteries only last 3-4 months with regular use. I am not sure why that would make your ipod freeze--but hopefully this is some help.
Yeah Tiff...what she said. I know nothing about the chip, but I want to tell you that you are amazing and I am so proud of you! I am really excited about you running in the SFM! You go girl!
Love You!
Tiff, this may surprise you....but I've got the answer. Take the frozen I-Pod and put it in the oven, bake it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes....or until golden brown. Then, plug in the chip thing into the pod thing, then call Nike and ask them what kind of batteries should go into the Apple disc thing on your Dell computer lap top...then call Micro Soft and tell them that your pod chip will not play Gwen Stephani, or whatever, and how much you hate running without tunes....then email I-tunes and see if they will down load a new unfrozen chip onto your my space account so I can watch you run on U-Tube. Then watch Dancing with The Stars with Randy because it's his favorite show. Then listen to yourself on the radio because you are a Dancing genius. Then call your dad and thank him for his advice. Then go out and run your little fanny off, with, or without music.
Tiff, if none of this works....I have one last suggestion. Stop playing bad music. I-pods like "Led Zepplin" and "The Who" not that weird stuff you are forcing it to play, weird music makes them freeze up. Happy running.
Ugh! What a pain! That's never happened to me, but I haven't used mine in quite a while. What is your pace looking like? I can't wait to start running again, I feel like a blimp! And I'm the same way, I can't run w/out my tunes!
Tiffany I am impressed! It is my dream to run a marathon but I honestly don't think it will ever happen. Good luck!
