Madden's Baptism Day

Today Madden was baptized and confirmed a member of our church by his Dad.
It was such a special day for him and for our whole family.
Grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles and friends all traveled near and far to be there to support him and celebrate with us and it meant so much.

After the baptism and confirmation was held at the church, we invited all of our friends and family back to our place for brunch.
Madden really wanted to have a donut bar with his fave donuts from Bosa...

In the months leading up to his baptism, Randy and I wanted to make sure that the decision to get baptized was one Madden made for himself and not something he was doing just because he thought he had to.
So first we asked him IF he wanted to get baptized.
He said yes.
And then we asked him WHY.
And he said because he knew it was what his Heavenly Father wanted.
And thats just the kind of kid Madden is...he is so obedient and always wants to do what is right.

For his baptism day we gave him his very own set of scriptures with his name engraved on them, just like Randy and I both got on our baptism days so many years ago.
I also made a book for him with all of his baptism pictures in it and scriptures about baptism and we used the book as a sign-in book at the baptism, where friends and family could write notes to him congratulating him on his baptism day.
It was so fun to read through everyones notes at the end of the day and my hope is that the book will help Madden to remember his special day and remember all the people who love him and were there to support him.

Seriously, such a perfect day!
I'm so proud of this kid and love him so much my heart could burst!
