Elder Hunt

Well, it is official! My brother Tanner is a missionary! After Boston's baby blessing on Sunday, we were all able to spend the next few days together in Utah as a family and just soak up as much time as we could with Tanner before taking him to the MTC on Wednesday afternoon. Those last few days together were ones filled with mixed emotions...I went from laughing hysterically at Tanner and having so much fun with him, to experiencing very spiritual moments. Tanner was able to have the unique experience of being set apart as a missionary by his own father, and it was a neat experience for all of us.

We were all also able to attend a live session in the Salt Lake Temple while we were there.

This was the first missionary in our family and we had never had the experience of going to the MTC, so I don't think anything could have prepared us for it...it was heart-wrenching, to say the least. The spirit was very strong there and I am so thankful that my whole immediate family was able to be there to support Tanner and share that experience together. As hard as it was to say our goodbyes, I really am so happy for Tanner and excited for him and what lies ahead! He will be such an amazing missionary and I know he will touch so many people's lives! I am so proud of him and love him so much!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I am glad you got to experience the MTC. It is so amazing, and yet emotional. Glad you are back!

Wow! Isn't saying goodbye so hard? I hate it. How was the live session? I bet that was rad!

I second what marianne said. Both times we've done have really been heart wrenchers. But it's fun to keep in touch via letters/email. I feel like I already know Kris better than before through his letters. BJ not so much... sorry bro but you're not much of a pen pal :) But congrats to you and your fam for all the big events! That's so exciting.

How is your brother doing? My brother is getting ready to leave and I'm going to be a bawling baby! :) It will be so exciting to get letters and hear of all their experiences though!

Those are cute pictures! I cried like a baby when my brother left on his mission a few months ago! Anyways, I definately agree that we need to get together soon for sushi and shopping! Also, I want to start running with you. Even though you will probably kick my butt because Im out of shape! What time do you usually run everyday?
