** July 24-26 2015 **
On Friday, July 17, 2015 my beautiful Grandma Hunt passed away.
It was very sudden and unexpected...
My Grandma was always the healthiest, most energetic and vibrant of all of my grandparents...I thought she'd live the longest.
This past Christmas, when we were home in the bay area for the holidays, Randy and I took the boys over to see her and her husband Dave.
Dave had been in poor health and I thought it might be the last time we saw him.
But it never even crossed my mind for a second that it might be the last time I saw my Grandma.
And it was.
I'm so glad we made that visit.
When we were little girls, we used to call my Grandma "Grandma Pool," because we loved going over to her house to swim in her pool.
We also loved sneaking into her room to play in her jewelry box.
She had lots of big dangly clip on earrings, and sometimes, if we were really lucky, she let us try them on.
After she passed away, I was able to make it out to California for her memorial service.
All of my siblings were there and (almost) all of my cousins were there.
After her service, we gathered at my parents for a luncheon and all the cousins stayed the longest.
We sat around and told funny stories about Grandma and shared all our favorite memories of her.
Then my Aunt Robyne brought out Grandma's jewelry box and me and my sisters and cousins went through it and were able to pick a few pieces to keep.
I couldn't believe the childhood memories that came flooding back as I looked through her jewelry!
I'm so glad I was able to be with my entire family to celebrate the life of my sweet Grandma.
I have her to thank for my Spanish heritage and my love of dangly earrings...
And I am so thankful to know that I will see her again someday.

Oh man. I'm so sorry! Losing a grandparent is the worst. She sounds a lot like my grandma and when she passed, we all did the same thing rummaging through her jewelry and telling stories.
Also-what color gray is the paint in your new house? We are getting ready to move and I'm having a hard time finding the perfect gray!
And you travel more than any person I know. Take me with you on your next trip!!!! And give me your tiny body.
